Yeppers. Another flaming colt! Arrived 1.30 am, mother and child doing well....me, not so! He is Black (what else from a Silver Bay Pinto and a Red Dun???) and weighed in at 16 1/2"....to compensate for the spate of colts they appear to be getting smaller each time, Hopefully they will, eventually, disappear. No pictures yet as I am too sleep deprived, and I have to go back down there, too, as her bag is very hard and full, so she needs a bit of help through the night. I shall get them, and ones of the other one. up asap. This one is Black as Knight, the other one is Black Velvet!
:booty Well I better not tell you that I had 7 foals last season & 6 were fillies.

The main thing is though, that they are healthy & also good types.
And i got 5 foals, ALL were fillies & 4 were born daylight hours, the 5th was still a respectable 8.30pm. :rofl

Bannerminis Fri, 05/28/2010 - 11:46

Well at least your mares are FOALING - I would take a 5 legged hobbit at this stage :BH
(Vet coming Monday to scan to find out for definate if there is somthing in there or if she is pulling my leg)

It might be a colt but its alive and well and I think that people do like the blacks whether its a boy or a child.

Looking forward to the pics - bet he is cute and I like the names too :flower

Good Grief, people, even I knew that and I'm just an ignorant English!!! :rofl
OK, three of these, "can't give them away" boys are actually sold, so.........
I also sold a gelding the other day, and have sold two older mares and a filly, all from my new website, so websites (well made ones, Thank you MO) do pay for themselves, I am finding!!!
I am desperate to find good, non breeding homes for my two tiny girls, though, you have to be SO careful, I do not need some ijit saying they've heard of plenty mares this size being bred, and trying, the WHOLE point is to get them safe, not interested in breeding, homes. Wish you could geld mares!!

If you are selling them so easily rf why the above????? Would have thought you would be happy to get colts... at least you can castrate them??? :D

lipigirl Sat, 05/29/2010 - 14:38

Sorry what i should have said is that they are give away prices, not the prices we used to get for them. I am glad that you are selling them that is great news. As to your tiny fillies I would have one in a flash but can't afford one. :sad

No, I am never too pleased to get colts, if you get "left" with a filly it does not really matter, I ended up with a very good broodmare that way, but, if you get left with a colt, well, that is how I ended up with Bertie and Toby! Most of the year I can work round the geldings, but, at this time of year, I could do with the space, I have plenty of grass, but I am running out of fields, as I cannot have a stallion anywhere near a gelding at this time of year....
