Tweetie's First Foal- Palomino?

dakotakdq Wed, 06/29/2011 - 01:28

very nice!! love the parents!!!

he looks pally to me, does he have a red sheen or a more golden sheen to him?

It depends on the light... Sometimes he looked like that red dun color minus actual dun and sometimes he looked creamy...

I think he's palomino. How is the mare bred? She reminds me alot of my old mare in the shape of her head and color.

I'd say palomino, because that's exactly the way I've described my palomino foals -- red dun without the dun! Gorgeous mare and colt.

Thank you guys. :)

The mare I believe is all Foundation bred but her exact lines I haven't looked at. I could ask the hubby when he gets home.

Love the mare and the stallion, the head on the mare is very sweet. I think the foal will be pali and a really deep rich color like the first pic of tweetie, maybe that's why he looks so dark?

I think the foal is definitely Palomino- the depth of the colour at birth is no real indication of colour at maturity, btw.

You asked for it, you got it. I know it's a bad phone pix, but you get the idea. This filly looked so red that even I had my doubts - except for the fact she HAD to be a pali as her sire is a cremello...lol

I will get new Goldie pixs in the morning when I get new Thor, Storm and Delight pixs...She is now in that awkward 2 yr old stage so she isn't exactly what I'd call "georgeous", but she will fill out eventually. You should however get a good idea of her color...a georgeous yellow gold with snow white mane/tail.
