Tobi + sabino?

http://horselover.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=31415&p=540028&hilit=+f…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; What patterns would you say that horse has? It's just the most recent topic I found pics of him in. Also, question: As far as I know, tobiano restricts face white, yes? Like, especially if you subscribe to the theory that every white mark is caused by a pattern of some sort...We're discussing whether his blaze is caused from sabino or just a normal blaze. It looks very sabino to me, it's a little wonky and goes onto his lower lip.

I don't even know about sabino. That face screams splash to me.

The localized roaning in his flank shields is really... odd.

I thought he looked splashy at first, but then....I dunno. I just sort of shrugged that off.

Looks typical rabicano roaning to me - just a bit heavier than the usual. The extra pixs of the tail head helped - so rabicano.

Krickette, I'd go with splash, tobi and rabicano.

Tobiano + Sabino, do not see Splash, but it always a possibility.
Flank roaning caused by Sabino.
Are we still considering Rabicano as part of the Sabino "bundle", as I do??

Definitely not here.

Hmm, that's strange, as I really think it probably is.
So ...what do you think it is?

I think it is its own separate gene. It passes and expresses far to consistently to be a form of sabino IMO.

Its also to specific for sabino. It roans the tail head flank and occasionally the under arms. It doesnt create excess white markings when its loud, which it should if it were a portion of sabino. It IMO just doesnt act anything like a "sabino" should.

I agree it's separate.

I disagree the horse is rabicano... I see nothing in the tail head.

I did, but it's too close up to honestly tell. A horse as roaned as that can easily have random scattered white hairs in it's tail. That does NOT look like a rabicano pattern to me. I'd like to see another shot of the tail head from a further distance.

Well, I think I shall stick with "Rabicano as a part of the Sabino polyglot" until it is proven otherwise so I see sabino expressing as Rabicano, in minimal form, on this horse.
