TB Stallion...

Is this stallion black, dark bay, or brown? http://www.itoba.com/Eishin%20Masamune.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The body is just TOO black to be a seal to me. The flank is suspicious, but I have seen blacks with it. My gut said black. I suspected I knew his pedigree based on his name and color... and I was right. He's a Sunday Silence. I stick with black.

Agree on black.

Poor boy was euthanized after an accident in his trailer. RIP.

Makes me wish I had tested Mira before she died because she was shiny black with only some brown on her flank like this, and I always called her seal. I don't have any photos of her looking shiny like this because it didn't last for long - she was kept on pasture and faded badly very quickly. Hmm.

It's there for me now? :?

This thread made me think of Devil His Due. He's registered as a dark bay/brown, I think. But some forums have called him black, including a few where forumites seem to understand color.

He's obviously close to black, at least, and in this shot he's got a winter coat (including red hairs, especially in the tail). Any thoughts as to his 'real' color?

Thanks!:

I've always thought him a true black, but I've only seen some racing photos.

I've seen him up close and personal and vote 100% black. I say the same for Halo. I've always been on the fence about Devil's Bag, but the more "fading blacks" I see, the more I think he was one as opposed to "bay" like he's registered. I saw Devil His Due and Halo both in person, I never saw Devil's Bag so I can't say with much confidence.

the first picture, is it me or is there something weird about his nose? I was trying to make out if he had a lighter muzzle and i coulodnt work out what was going on with that.

He's got the lead twisted over his upper lip (looks like he might have been playing with it). I think you're seeing the snap right over his nostrils.

I was wondering too. Weird all around. Weird texture to him as well as the whole odd face shot....
