skin colour

is it normal for a red and white foal to have some black skin ? I dont mean the slate greyish black I mean very black , could it be a pointer that the "red" and white foal is actually a silver bay ?

Most red horses have black skin. Some can be mottled, but most are solid black.

Chestnut effects hair color, not so much the skin.
