Mini horse colt

This little colt belongs to a friend and my other friend is looking to buy it. Bay or Brown is not in question here more does it carry cream which I don't think he does although the owner says he's a Bucky - not tested of course! Sire is a Buckskin and Dam is apparently a Dun but am waiting on pics to see what base colour we are looking at and if infact she is a Dun. I could see smokey black maybe easier than I see buckskin.... but as a foal, he looks like a regular brown bay?

Actually, as a foal he looks Brown, to me, also as an adult. Brown + Pangaré, no Cream

Yes well glad it's not just me that thinks this then. All good news because he will be mated to mostly Appy mares and would prefer him not to be able to pass on cream. :-D

Based on the older photo I'd already decided smokey brown... but then the foal photo sure looks plain brown doesn't it? Hmmm.

Agreed with ACC. Older photo looked smoky brown to me, but the foal looks plain brown.

So we are devided then, if she buys him I will ask her to test him as it's not expensive to test now is it?

But my first thoughts when i saw him were Exmoor pony LOL !!!..in a nice way but I think I am with Fizz on this one.
