Re: Hubby's mare and a pasturemate
I would say sooty Buckskin too, if you were ever to consider breeding her it would be a good idea to test to see if she is Smoky Black, but she looks sooty Buckskin.
The Pinto...what a pretty little mare!
Red base Tobiano + Sabino +, maybe Splash and, of course:

For LWO!!!

Scott rode our friend's mule, Omega, and now he's tossing around the idea of finding a spotted mamoth jack as a boyfriend for Patches.
Re: Hubby's mare and a pasturemate
evil creatures, they are to smart for me, give me a dumb ole horse any day over a mule LOL, I broke and started mules for a few years for a family and they kicked my butt! OFTEN.. you cant always "think horse" with them. I got 11 stitches in my chin from a appy/mule and I was standing at his girth, he KICKED ME in the face with his back hoof, standing NEXT TO HIM. ...tons of other tramatic stories LOL some of my guys went on to win t he mule big show, but what I had to do to get them there was a nightmare, they are great for trail or wagons, but show animals , yikes
Re: Hubby's mare and a pasturemate
Well call me crazy but I would be all for that idea. I think mules are fantastic.
I think Omega is Fantastic. Cadilac ride with four wheel drive. lol. We took my step son trail riding for the first time, and she took such good care of him. I swear I could see a foot of daylight between his butt and the saddle trotting down the trail, but she made sure that saddle was always under his butt when it came down.
Scott on Omega (hubby, not step son. lol)
I'm sorry, I thought Hubby was a beginner!!!
Reading too fast again!
No you were right. Scott is the hubby and the beginer. Patches was having a minor issue, and Kurt traded mounts with Scott for just a little bit. Also Scott was very eager to try Omega out. We were pretty much nose to tail through the mountians so they were pretty safe. Scott got his girl back with her easy snaffle bit after about a half an hour.

If you did breed a mule, and especially a spotted one, to Patches, you would have a good chance at getting a mule with 4 socks, and maybe some body white.
Given the mule is fertile...yes... 8-) :rofl
Tjuri! :booty
You know that CM is meaning to say if you did breed for a mule ;)
I personally am no fan of mules. I could see a pretty mare like that go on to have gorgeous horse-babies instead, but naturally, it all comes down to personal preference. :D
Re: Hubby's mare and a pasturemate
Yes, I know... :rofl - I just couldn't resist...playing with words is so much fun!!! :booty
Well, in that case...... :P
Given the mule is fertile...yes... 8-) :rofl
Why yes...isn't that what they call 'hybrid vigor'?
Re: Hubby's mare and a pasturemate
Even better: Interspecific hybrid vigor!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8-)
Since by definition a hybrid vigor is an increase in the performance of hybrids over that of purebreds, most noticeably in traits like fertility and sterility...
...the interspecific breeding lacks as far as fertility is concerned - there goes the theory!!!!!!!!! :rofl :bounce
I love mules, they are so human!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Re: Hubby's mare and a pasturemate
Yep, Sooty Buckskin for the first and Chestnut Tobiano and Sabino (maybe Frame also) for the second.
Hubbies mare is very pretty!
