Hi, NC country here.

Hi. I just recently acquired a little filly. She is nothing "special" except that she is mine. :love I am really green to having a horse but I have many wonderful people around me to help me along the way. I live very close to a major eventing place as well as a buggy track. Neither of which I want to pursue. I just want a nice pleasure horse for myself and my children. Prairie has been with us a month now and is putting on some weight while loosing her winter coat. Her background is sketchy. I wish I could grill the people better about where she came from but for now all I know is that she and the other yearling (possibly a half sister?) were neglected. Prairie should be about 9-10 months old now and is a little over 13 hands. Can anyone tell me her color? Possible breed(s)? I thought this might be a bit easier for people to find if I moved it up here.

Welcome to the forum!

I'm thinking buckskin. Her breed looks pretty generic and could be one of several things, but likely a QH or QH cross.

also large head and i have noticed that a lot of them go through a bit of a gorky stage before they turn into swans - no offence !

She isn't gaited as far as I know. But then I have read some gaited horses have to be taught to gait.
I can't load a video to show, don't have anything to take videos with.
To me she has a small head. She still wears a colt halter as a yearling is huge on her.
