Is he minimal Sabino?

I'm curious about what causes the white ticking throughout his body and especially in the closeups I shared.  Thanks!

He could be.  What breed is he?  I'm actually wondering if he isn't a very minimal Tobiano.   The placement of the white on his neck and withers is the reason I'm wondering.  Is his face solid?

His face is mostly solid.  He has a teeny tiny snip and stripe (that only goes up to the nose piece on the halter).  He also has some white whiskers, white lips and mottling on his lips.  Can a minimal Tobiano have flecking?

Oh and he's a Quarter horse, but his sire was pinto... not sure which pattern.

Here is his nose.

There is no white any higher on his face.  He shows the whites in his eyes too.

Here's a picture of his lips.

Is he registered with the

Is he registered with the American Quarter Horse Association?  If so Tobiano would be exceedingly unlikely.

He is not registered.  I got

He is not registered.  I got him from a friend and I'm a little sketchy on his parents.  The mom was apparently a black Quarter horse supposedly AQHA registered.  His sire was supposedly AQHA registered, but he was pinto colored... not sure what color or pattern on the sire.  I'm sorry, but that's all the info I have on his parents.

If his sire was registered QH

If his sire was registered QH then it can't be tobiano, however, if the was a registered paint then it could be tobiano.  You could test if you're really curious.  If it's not tobiano it probably one of the untestable "sabinos".

He's just a riding gelding so

He's just a riding gelding so I probably won't test him.  I'm pretty sure both parents were AQHA registered so I'm going to say it's Sabino lol.  Thank you for the help!  I didn't know that about AQHA/tobiano.  :)
