Can someone please tell me what color my horse is?

Ok, I have been around horses since I was born, but I have never seen a horse with colors like my boy, Flash. When he was younger he was just a white grey. Now that he is 16 he is getting the flea-bitten markings. Ok, yes I would say he is flea-bitten grey...but here is the kicker. When he is wet, he has paint markings. I've has several white grey horses, and I've has several flea-bittens, and none of them have ever had paint markings. I'm just lost and tired of not knowing. I've been told White Grey Fleabitten And Ghost Paint. Which is he? Can someone please help? Also I know his dam was an Arabian, and I don't know what his father was. I bought his mom and didn't even know she was in foal, and she had him a week later. Vet says he is all arabian, but I don't think we will ever truly know. And also, his tail is weird. The top half has always been as white as the rest of him, but the bottom is dark brown. I don't have a picture of him wet, its hard enough to bathe him without having a hand to spare on a camera, and I have no close ups to show where he is getting spots...and he always flicks his tail when pictures are taken. Sorry I don't have a better picture :/

IF he was a 'paint' horse before he went grey than all you are seeing is the patches from where he used to have a solid colour to the markings on the skin e.g. pink skin where he was white and dark skin where he was coloured. My mini gelding was a pinto before he went whitee - when he is wet you can still see the markings from where he would have had colour on the skin.

He was a chestnut when he was born, and he did have lighter chestnut markings...does that count?

No, but it could also be Vitiligo - which often develops on greys as they age and causes the skin to lose it's pigmentation.
