Can I even kid myself she won't grey out?

My mare has had a pretty little foal, I will attach a photo. I accept she is most likely going to go grey, but I have never had an experience of a foal born with a grey tail. She also has a patch of grey flecks on her withers. Her father was a chestnut roan, so I was hoping she was going to be chestnut roan, but I think I am just kidding myself to be honest. So please, break it to me, is she a grey or is there hope? Just to add, it doesn't really matter if she is, she is still extra gorgeous and lovely, but I did have my heart set on a bay filly haha

She sure looks like a bay going grey to me...but I have been fooled before...you could always test her (love all the new color test  )

Thanks for the replies everybody! Although I wish I never asked now haha. Her goggles aren't grey, just a normal chestnut colour in person, and I was hoping that because she has chestnut eyelashes and not white hairs on her head and legs other than her marking that there was a chance she would just be a roan.

I have never experienced so much white on a coat of a foal that is going to grey out, and the grey tail. Is this a regular thing?

I find this site fascinating, with colours I had never even heard of before. I will have to get a picture of my Irish Sports Horse mare as I can't decide what colour she is, everybody classes her as a liver chestnut but she is like a silvery chocolate colour with black and chocolate mane, and stripey legs!

The "liver chestnut" could be that, but it actually sounds more like a chocolate palomino to me.

Your baby's tail may not have anything to do with being gray. I've seen tails like that on the occasional non gray bub. It's not really any actual gray hairs on the foal that tell me gray is there, it's the overall tone of the body color.
