And he called her Palomino LOL

A neighbour up the road while buy a couple of 13hh2" ponies bought a 35" mare that she thought was in foal (as she was huge) and the thought she was a pretty chestnut with flaxen but the guy swore blind that she was Palomino. Anyway she liked the mare so thought she would buy her and keep her with a little 30" gelding that she has. They are just pets and lawnmowers. Anyway within 2 days of getting her home the mare came in season so she asked if she could use one of my boys for a cover. The mare is heavier boned but very correct and has a pretty look about her. She decided to go for Banner as he should reduce the size and bone of the foal. Anyway while she was here I got a couple of quick shots - they dont actually do her justice. She is now on a diet as her new owner thought that her weight was down to carrying a foal lol. But she has already shed a few pounds and is on the road to leaving obesitiy behind. Now I just cant call her Palomino - to me she is Chestnut with Flaxen and Sabino. She has roaning through her coat and a couple of white spots here and there. The mare is 6 yrs old and she has no book so no real history. She will be getting her passport in the coming wks. Definitly a chestnut pangere and somewhat fat but do they know if she has foaled before? My broodmare is a baby machine and never quite looses that dropped belly (I don't work her at all)

That might just be her though, she never quite dries up either lol. I caught my two year old trying to nurse the other day , silly thing is as big as her mother. :laugh1

That reminds me of a video I saw about mustangs. There was a mare, with what looked like her 3 year old foal, a 2 year old foal and her current several month old foal all nursing on her.

She has NO udder whatsoever and doesnt have a lot of fat on her neck. She is carrying it all underneath like a mare in foal would but was mad in season and would have nearly rolled over for the stallion.
The dont know for sure if she has ever foaled but they think not. I think she has just been living the good life out on grass so would of course be fat as a fool.

Since she is most probably a Shetland she will not have Sabino (even though it looks quite like it) so the blaze is down to Splash...she is Chestnut, BTW, very definitely, no chance of Cream!!!
Rabbit looks more Palomino!
