Tricky tricky

What do you guys think? She's pretty interesting. Especially with this pedigree http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/thf+sprinkle+me+sweet" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I know there's a chance her dam was hiding something but I'm definitely think it's pretty interesting. I asked if it would be possible to test her and offered to help pay since I'm so intrigued! Opinions?

Dominant White + Sabino.

Though I wouldn't be completely surprised if she came back OLW positive.

I've actually seen quite a few like that in the paint world, I would agree with RiddleMeThis and say DW & Sabino. I don't understand as much about DW but I definitely see Sabino. The Paint "Robin" line had a lot like that, this was one of my favorites.....VR Master Bug http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/vr+mast…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

EDIT: and looking at the OP horse pedigree, Jetalito was Sabino for sure, and look at Scenic Jetalito, would you say DW on that one?
The sire looks Sabino/Splash to me and possibly frame, but its always possible frame right  ? WOOPS! nope it says neg LWO on the sires info on the pedgiree, so if the horse has frame it would have to come from the dam, so I'm just going to stick with DW/Sabino.

I have read something about Scentic Jetalito a few days ago when I searched for information for my thesis.I think he carry an special trait.I read that when he comes of age his medicine hat patterns become invisible.

Here is a link. The things about Scentic Jetalito are on page 4.I don't know if this source is to old but I found it interesting.

Is one of the eyes blue and one normal pigmented or is it just difficult to see?

rodeoratdogs Sun, 01/16/2011 - 12:30

Oh that's a great article Adurna, thanks for posting it. I'm thinking I actually got the PHJ when that article came out but that was a while back. Frank Holmes is my favorite equine writer ever.
Hi folks, I am this mare's owner. Adurna, to answer your question that eye looks like this:

I'm hoping to pull some hair on her today so we can get the test done. :)
Thought I recognized this horse.

I'm newmare06 on the FiSH forum. RiddleMeThis here and just about everywhere else. LOL

(BTW also add splash to my original thoughts as I didn't realize from the pictures that the eye was blue.

rodeoratdogs Sun, 01/16/2011 - 18:05

Here is another mare that is local here in WA state that is similar to your horse, This mare is frame/splash/sabino. However I'm still guessing neg. for frame on your horse not for any reason execpt her sire is negative, but I agree again with RMTh that she is probably Splash as well with the blue in the eye.

I would say that the dam's blaze is reminiscent of splash...it looks narrow on top, wider at the bottom, even if it only covers one nostril (from what I can see on the photo above and the photo in Allbreed).

Sire is marked frame negative, and shows a classic splash blaze, as well as a very definite sabino back stocking.

Yeah that mare is nice, your mare being only 3 I suspect will fill out quite a bit more. I like your mare's pedigree as well, she has a couple in common with my mare in my avatar and in my signature line, like Jetalito and Pretty Impressive.
I love Maddons bright eyes and your mare go's back to her on her Dam's side.
Your mare's dam may carry frame, it is in her pedigree and it may be why the splash is not expressed more.

rodeoratdogs Mon, 01/17/2011 - 11:52

Well yeah I agree with the HYPP N/N, there is no reason to still breed N/H horses now that they have a test for it. Pretty Impressive was N/H but he was foaled in 1975 before they figured out the whole HYPP thing, and he produced some very nice N/N horses including COOSA, the horse my mare goes back to.

Frame, frame, frame IMO. It's coming from the dam's side. Sabino for sure, possibly splash.

Pacific Pintos Wed, 01/19/2011 - 09:09

We have had a few miniature horses born here like this mare that have been tested Frame/Sabino.
And the results...?
Considering the hairs were just sent out yesterday, she probably doesn't have them yet LOL ;-)

Oh wow that was fast!

So she definitely got it from momma. Interesting
