For those of you interested in Seal Brown

Nice selection of photos. I'm thinking there are a few in there that are just bay, one or two that are fading black, but most I would consider brown. http://fhotd64476.yuku.com/topic/46984?page=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

When was it decided that they had to have tan around the muzzle?
By that definition a lot of Exmoors would be Brown, and I am pretty sure they are not.
Or is this tan thing like Sabino, where the white almost always goes onto the bottom lip?

They are both IMO. Yes, horses with pangare' should always have brown/tan around the muzzle. As far as browns having it... eh... I've never seen a brown with a truly black muzzle.

I feel fairly certain she is. She definitely has a reddish/brown muzzle and flank. She's in her winter coat (and it appears to me she's been either blanketed or kept inside as there is virtually no fading of the topline at all) which tends to look much darker than a summer coat (even a non bleached one). I'd bet that in summer she is unmistakably brown.

This mare is colored just like my old Mira -- "black", except for the tiniest bit of brown at the flank. Mira was not tested before she died so I still don't know whether she was brown or black.
OK, I am obviously missing something here as I see a Black......what am I missing, this is beginning to annoy me!!
How often do you find true blacks with a red flank and muzzle?

That's the main problem....a couple of the examples I can see what people are going on about, but some of them, they just look Bay to me, and a couple look fading Black.
I hate it when people "discover" something, |I am just waiting for the first "Rare Brown Overwalkalossa" to be advertised!!!
Bet it will be
a) untested
b) Hideozygous :booty
