I'm in charge of lining horses up at our Fall Festival of Leaves parade....and there were a few neat ones there yesterday. Of course I didn't have my camera, but I did have my phone, which has a decent camera on it. and...i got to ride a biiiiiig Clydesdale in a sidesaddle! Thanks to SOLA for letting me try out a clyde AND a sidesaddle! This first mare was neat looking...bay paint mix is what they said she was. One of the sidesaddle horses...this was his "test" parade for going back into bigger parades...I guess they had him in KY a couple years ago for Derby week and there were some high winds and a bag of cans blew into his face and shattered his confidence. The rider seemed in high spirits after the parade, so I'm assuming all went well :)

here is the clyde I got to ride after the parade was over. He had one dark leg...funny thing..there was another clyde in the parade and she had a dark front leg as well...will have to see if I got any pics of her.
This guy's owner lives just a couple minutes up the road from me. She rode this guys momma in the parade last year.

we even had a Knight there! LOL With her blue roan steed (can't see the roanyness due to the costume though, but I think they walked him through last year)

behind the camera! LOL Next year I want to take one of my girls...There is a place I can tie up until it's time for the parade so I can still do the lineup. I rode in the sidesaddle after the parade was over for about 10-15 minutes. The woman who let me try it out (and the clyde!) live just up the road from me.
