Picture of quickly going gray...

Just thought I'd share. I was taking herd fotos of foals a few years ago and ran across this guy. He was going gray in a hurry! The foto was taken in May and although I'm not sure what month he was born, I know it was the current year.

It is welcome to go there...but do we need parentage info or something for all of that? I know his dam was gray but I don't have a foto of the mare though, as he was an ET foal and his "mother" was a recip Belgian LOL. His sire is Indian Artifacts http://www.whatiwork4.com/index.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That is quick for a horse that is not carrying silver, I did however have a Lipizzaner who did change that quick....if I can find the pics I will post.

This was what I was talking about in the other thread about grey and Silver's interaction -

The miniature Applause is mine and he was pure white by the time he was weaned aged 6 months due to Silver and Grey.

This is one of our foals, he is 3 months old, not greying as quickly as the first one but still pretty fast. both parents are grey, dam born smokey black, sire born brown, foal was born either black or smokey black.

I used to have a photo of a weanling that was gray that was almost completely solid white. It was on a European auction website, and I can no longer find it.

I think that was the shock for Applause's breeder - they had this lovely Silver Black pinto foal - very nicely marked and then solid white by 6 months - you just don't expect it ! :shock:

I'd say I had a grey comparible, but I'm pretty darn 99.9% sure I also have roan going on as well. My filly is heterozygous from a heterozygous grey sire and black dam.
