Odd roaning spots

This mini belong to a friend on the drill team. I've always thought his leg roaning odd, and this year I noticed other roaning spots (that were likely there previously, I just never noticed them before). So I took some pics (sorry, from my cell phone) while we were washing the minis for the Rose Bowl parade to share with you guys :) And the face shots are just to show you his only white, other than the roaning. is that a sabino trait? my QH mare has them on her body, but a bit smaller, and a roan cheek!

It is something that shows a lot on my Chestnut Rabbit kids....more so on males, too, we have a theory that Sabino expresses most on Red based males, so if this is about the most minimal Sabino can get then it is right that it should be on a Red male!
I had an Appy addict seriously tell me that my Chestnut, male Rabbit son, sired by an Appy, was a minimal Appy.
He wasn't but he was weirdly marked!!
He also had a dark, roaned out, patch on his rump.

Most are creamy, but at least two spots and the leg mark are white. THe leg mark shows all year long. I hadn't noticed the body spots in his winter fluff, but I wasn't really paying attention, either. I'll have to check next winter before he gets body clipped!

I have a black sabino filly (mini also) with odd patches like that, she has a big on her side & one on her chest.

I had a Black (H/Z we believe but not tested) Falabella colt whose sire was a Tobiano. He had one large, isolated roan patch on his near side, We called it his "attempt" at being Tobiano :rofl

If yall figure this out let me know please! Those look just like Sheba's big patch she had! Black skin underneath, white hair with a few reds sprinkled in it.

I have a friend who has a stallion with a roan stocking. Not sure if that's related to this or not. I don't have pictures of him but he's got a website http://www.ohkkrymsunzip.com/chevyphoto…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but of course no closeups of the leg (RH). She always thought it had something to do with his roan mama but I told her I thought roan was dominant and it had to be something different.

Edited to add that this is really a "stocking." It has a CLEAR end at the top, like a line, just as if it was white...it doesn't roan into his hock. It stops just like it was leg white.
