How much champagne should we get? I am getting married in July and having a reception for about 140 people. I am wondering how many bottles of champagne to buy and also sparking cider for non-alcoholic drinkers?

?? you want to get champagne colored horses for all your guests ;-)

I didn't realize it was considered humane to place horses in bottle, champagne-colored or not. Also, although horses are hindgut fermenters, they are non-alchoholic and all of your guests can enjoy them!

Anyway, there are about 6 servings of champagne per bottle, or you can buy a whole case for 72 servings. This means you will need at least 2 cases(or 24 bottles) of champagne if you want everyone to have a drink. if that is the only alcohol your wedding is having it will be a very lame wedding reception and people will talk about how much it sucked for years to come! Count on one drink per hour, per guest! And don't buy sparkling cider, just tell people it's non-alchoholic. It makes life much easier and much more entertaining.

Make sure your budget allows for 72 champagne horses. I can only imagine how much that feed bill would be...

I totally support the concept, :rofl as so many of MY friends are diabetic and can't drink (or doing the 12-steps) I guess I'd be forced to by the sparking cider :toast , or else losing a few friends. :sad It is a good thing I don't plan on getting married again --- EVER (this one is a keeper, but besides that, I don't plan on being another Liz Taylor) :bounce :bounce :bounce

It is a well known fact that champagne horses are 10 times easier to get drunk than regular colored horses. Actually, 10 times for heterozygous and 20 times for homozygous.
