minimal tobiano bred to maximal expressed tobiano = ????

There's no info on it because its fairly random. You can get a minimal, maximal, normal or just about anything from any cross.

In addition, if both parents are Heterozygous for Tobiano you could get a solid and/or no tobiano gene if neither parent passes along their one Tobiano gene to the foal.

Yeh I've seen quite a few minimal tobis to max and the foals are pretty random!!

Well, with hetero parents, your odds of getting a Tobi carrying foal are 75%. 25% of which would be Homozygous Tobi and a 50% change of hetero Tobi. However, as stated above, the degree of expression is unknown as identical twins can vary widely in expression despite the exact same genes and physical environment in the womb. I have only seen one homozygous tobi that showed not even a hint of phenotypical expression though.

Do you consider this mare to show phenotypical expression of Tobi? I realize it is not the best picture for judging pattern, but I can assure you that the only white she has is what you can see in the photo.

Sorry, that's the only pic I have of her. She has no white higher than what you see.

Oh. OK, I'll email the owners and see if they have any other photos they would be willing to share.

Based solely on what you showed us, I would say no. But I would leave it open that seeing the other side of that leg could change my mind.

Ok folks. Here are some more photos as well as the owners description. My bad. As per the owner's discription, there is a wee bit more white than shows in the original photo I posted the link to.

Certainly not by much. No, I wouldn't consider her a phenotypical tobiano by any means. However, knowing what I know, if someone asked me what she was I would not rule out tobi and I might even suspect it.
