Interesting tobi +? pattern

Check out this ad and read the text as well, have you ever seen a horse with a pattern on one side only and the other one being completely solid??? I would like to see more pics of that horse... The head reminds me to a zebra... :ymsmug: http://www.yourequinesource.com/listingdetail.php?itemid=21448" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Yeah splashed horses have been weird, like Gambling Man who aside from his legs is basically solid on one side.

Tobiano I'd believe it. I've seen tobiano markings stop at or taper off after the dorsal line. I don't think it's to uncommon. Tho there is something else there other then just tobiano, not sure what.

Some photos of when I worked at Dixie Stampede

Granted he doesn't have a solid white side, but it's the best illustration I have of what I was talking about.

I'd believe she's solid, or mostly solid on one side, splash seems to do some really strange things. Or maybe it's the tobi splash interaction. That welsh cross mare also has that black nose I was looking for on the reverse black topic!

There is this other paint that was there before being shipped off to Tennessee. He's tobiano-something, just look at that face.

I think that's very splash looking, but the way it trails into the body, could be Frame too? I'm not that good at Frame!

Is it still common thinking that the halo's around the tobi markings is due to splash?

Ah see I heard some where recently that it was thought to be from sabino. But I haven't had anyone so say anything about it.

accphotography Tue, 06/29/2010 - 21:50

Halos are sabino IMO. But I think tobi alone could possible do it too.

That horse laying in his stall is definitely splash + tobi and could be other things but I don't necessarily see them.

That Welsh cross is cool! I actually was going to contact them, says they'd trade for a mini mare and I was going to offer that if they'd pay shipping (as my two mares I'm selling are quite a bit higher in price) but when I clicked to contact, it went to a different classified site and said the ad was deleted, so I'm guessing sold. Bummer that's really cool and I LOVE Welsh and Welsh crosses (but also probably a good thing since I should be DOWNsizing haha)

I would be careful laughing at that if I were you....what goes around.... ;-)

Agreed but I don't think ACC was laughing, really? Actually this foal is very well built and I'd rather have one like that than a mediocre conformation with white patterns!!! :love Peace! ymwhisle

CheyAut: Thanks for trying!!! :flower

I agree, I like the foal tremendously. Besides, that mare had a MUCH higher chance of throwing color than Lace does. :rofl
