Interesting sooty

http://www.horseforum.com/horse-colors-genetics/my-new-4yr-old-blm-must… This horse has some awesome looking sooty placement - a black blaze.

I watch a tv program called Eureka. On the last episode several cast members did a horse riding scene.
One of the horses had a lovely black blaze. I stopped the program, rewound and checked to make sure.

Funny thing tho, I am sure a horse with a black blaze had just been talked about and I figured it was on this site but now I am not sure.

Could be something that can happen with Bays (maybe massive/ odd Bend Or spot/patch) because here in Nz there was a 9yr old stationbred mare with 1/2 a black face & she also was Bay, have seen a bay foal with 1/2 a black neck that extended down one shoulder & on to his foreleg as well. Theres also this odd Pinto Icelandic pony http://www.andolscreek.com/PintoTan.jpg

It could be something with only bays. Probably because the sooty tends to be darker on bays than on chestnuts due to the darker base, if you know what I mean?

The Icelandic is probably chimeric, and something different. I can't remember, but someone else here will, if he had been tested chimeric, but I don't think he had. There are others like him in this thread...
