DW or sabino + splash?

Okay, before I contact the owners of those Criollos and ask them to contact Samantha Brooks in order to have those horses included in their current DW study - what is your take on these stallions and the offspring of the second one? Since this one displays a blue eye, I think it might be splash with sabino-1 mimicking DW. http://www.criollo-crzvd.de/index.php?pid=5&subpid=20&lang=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This one and both his offspring have dark eyes - so far no DW horse has been found with blue eyes as far as I know at least - if you scroll down you can see more pics of the older foal when it was young: For me sire and both foals are candidates for the research: http://www.viento-arriba.at/horse.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Let me know what you think!
I agree.

Not related but that stallion is my all time favorite color.
They are two different stallions - which one do you mean?

Well, I must say it's a bit disappointing that just a few people gave their opinions.
Yes, of course it is something on KIT...both mutations which come into consideration are on KIT - but is it DW that the stallion and his two foals in the second link display?

This foal:

looks very similar to the younger one by the second stallion:

IMO it's the same way the white is creeping up the body, same areas too.
I'm really tempted to send the owners an email and ask them to take part in Samantha Brooks' research.
But I would like to hear more of your opinions first. PLEEEEASE!

Here is the sire again:

...and the other foal, a year ago:

with the sire:

http://www.viento-arriba.at/horse40.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.viento-arriba.at/horse25.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and as a yearling:

Well, whether it is sabino or dominant white is based on the genotype, not the phenotype so it can't be determined without a lot of breeding or identifying the mutation.

The first link is definitely showing a splash-style blaze. In fact, looks like Nuggety's blaze a bit.

Yes, it could be splash-based but then: Most of the Airdrie-Apache-foals have that bald face too, some even display a pattern like a war-bonnet.
I know that Airdrie mutation is not found yet, but: Several Puchilingui-offspring show that bald face as well.
A couple of Puchi offspring show blue eyes so there may be actual splash in the line.
If those horses with blue eyes tested DW - can you confirm that? - then the combination with DW IS possible it seems - fascinating! It also kind of proves that splash CAN'T be located on KIT...;)

One of them IS tested positive for DW5, yup. This one I've seen myself and know the blue is there and the test results are correct. The other isn't tested but I'm certain is DW5 anyway.

I think someone already said they know splash isn't on KIT due to the latest study.

ACC - could you please post photos or a link to those two horses? I'm especially curious to see the confirmed DW with blue eyes. :drool :-BD

You are right about somebody else saying splash isn't on KIT - actually it was mentioned several times already, just not in this context as far as I remember at least...;)

MP - can you help my memory: Where is MITF located again?
