Can't really see her eyes here, but she is an amber. They are sort of a slate colour here.

Those are some funky looking eyes - the green ones are really odd looking

One of my foals from 3yrs ago, had blue eyes when he was born (not unusual) then bright GREEN eyes from the age of 10mths till early last year when they turned a very light brown. Up until his turned green (and they were emerald green!! lol) I thought only champagnes had them. I think it would be great if they stayed that colour!! :bounce :bounce

Oh and Supaspot, if you want a Champagne mini - my friend owns one who is standing at stud in the UK ! ;)

he is the first ( and only) champagne mini that Ive seen , I would love one , perhaps when your friend starts doing frozen semen ..... ;)

So what base colour is a Champagne or Pearl horse?

Champagne mearly dilutes a base colour like cream does so any base colour is the answer to your question.

Chestnut is Gold Champagne

Bay is Amber Champagne

Black is Classic Champagne

Then you can add cream to the mix and they also give them other names but lets just stay with the basics. ;)

It was Gary O`g (strange name I know but so called because Gary and Casilda were meant to buy Michaela and requested a cover from Sundance :love and didnt change their mind about buying her till after he was born) He is Palomino and white. His eyes are not dark brown tho but a light brown.

Ranger and Sasha have very light brown eyes I wonder what they were like at birth

This was the first foal it happened with from the sire of Hercules but hopefully you will get one from Ranger sooner or later. :)
