Due to decreasing use over the years, I have decided to disable the forum functionality of the site.

Forums will still be available to view but new posts are no longer allowed.

Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached.

That's the message I got when I tried to upload a close-up photo of snowflakes. Diane

Ok. I am not at all clear what would be SOP in this case. I made a judgment call and upped the quota limit (doubled it, which is overkill, but we can drop it back once we figure out what to do about it). I have a feeling that normally the quota would be dumped and the old attachments deleted, but I'm not certain if that's what she'd want to do or if she'd rather keep everything and expand the quota. I picked the safer option until she can decide for herself. It should work now.

It's a self imposed quota built into the forum, not a hosting quota. I don't know about this host but my host has unlimited space so I don't often worry about things like that. If they're going to charge Daylene we'll have to find another solution.

I was thinking it was a gallery space issue - but the total number of attachments you can put in posts total is limited? It's probably fine then, I don't know if she has a business package with unlimited space or not. I just didn't want to lose any gallery pics...

No it's not the gallery at all, it's the forum itself. It was limited to 50MB of attachments and it had apparently reached that. We could clear it, but then all the posts with attachments would lose them and it wouldn't be very beneficial as an archive anymore. However, it really depends on how much space she's got. Although I'll say 50MB is actually really small compared to what most hosting packages offer as a minimum so I suspect it will be fine to keep them.
