The other markings gallery

Do you think we should leave it and add sub-albums for lacing, brindle, etc or do you think we should do away with it and have those albums on the same level as the others?

That's a tough question for me to answer because I'm an organization freak. Personally I would like to break things down into sub albums as often as is reasonable (I'd even like to see palominos, buckskin and smokey blacks in their own sub albums under cream for instance). However I know I'm a bit OCD so I leave those types of decisions to everyone else. :laugh1

That's not a bad idea. What about actually dividing everything into Dilutions, White Patterns and Modifiers? Then doing sub albums from there? And smaller categories could work in some of the albums. The main thing should be to keep things easy to find and compare.

That would probably be a good idea. The thing we need to be most aware of is not getting into a situation where someone has to go 5 (for example) layers in to get to what they're looking for. By the same token it's almost worse to have to dig through lots of examples you don't need to see than to have to click on a few albums to get to the one you do need. There just needs to be a balance, a happy medium.

I think sub-albums in general are good, if such a balance is maintained. I wouldn't do it for the other markings categories, I would just give them main albums. But I would do as ACC suggested and make sub-albums for some things - like a liver/black chestnut sub-album for chestnut, etc. .
