Locking a post

Sara requested I lock a thread (she's on her mobile I think)- and edit out the horse's names - but it looks like I can only lock the individual posts. Is there a way to lock it to prevent further comments or should I ask Sara if she wants it deleted? It's the Shagya thread. Do we have a policy for these requests? I don't mind deleting it, but ....what do you all think? Apparently, she's been talking to drcharltonjr offline and he's freaked her out and he called her a Nazi murderer..... it's not so blatant in the post, but it came to that offline.... She sent what he said: "I won't say you're "wrong" because "it depends" on your "intent" but you're a MURDEROUS NAZI. Thanks and have a nice day. Love Jesus!"

Oh, that sentence above was actually paraphrasing several sentences (for emphasis in my Facebook rant, of course!) but anyway you get the idea. I've talked to mods on other forums where he has been banned and this is pretty much his standard behavior, especially lately. Thanks for posting this, Jenks. Yeah, I was on my mobile earlier but popped on the actual computer this morning to check in.

It had been several days since anything was posted on the Shagya tread. I think the topic was dead but I did lock the thread.

Sara, I'm sorry he's been giving you a hard time. If he tries anything like that here we'll ban him forthwith.

Thanks! I think we need to keep an eye on the guy. He condoned and even defended bestiality on the mane street and that's why he was banned there.

No. Good god - I thought it was some old lady who loved animals but was senile or something. I think we should ban him and someone should tell the authorities.

*shrug* if you believe as he obviously does that animals=humans or vice versa then I guess there is nothing wrong with bestiality.

Well, after a bit of discussion with TheRedHayflinger and reading through "The Thread" on The Mane Street I decided to go ahead and ban him. He is obviously a troubled individual and I will keep him in my prayers.

Good. All I kept thinking about was the few teens we have on the board and some of Sara's students who sometimes come here to read. I went through a long talk with my daughter last night about being careful and how I just locked her out so that she can only be on the net when I am with her to unlock the PC. Then her phone too. I have been living in my own little naive world forgetting about the freaks.

I'm sending the mane street information to investigators. At least it will come up if anyone were to report anything else or he gets in any other trouble.

Maybe he has to be removed from the moderated group before he can be banned fully.

His post gives me the creeps, even being somewhat innocuous.

Anyway, I had banned him by email but evidently that only works for new users so I deleted him.

Hi guys ! Yes am settled in now horses out the back but still no laptop back from repair (only 6 weeks !! :hammer ) so am borrowing hubby's for today ! I am hopefully getting new machine next week and will be business as usual after that.
