Firstly welcome Tasha, your post has been approved.

Yes, your mini looks to be a Gold (palomino) Champagne in the pictures you have posted. I presume that he has amber or green eyes and mottled pink skin also?

Where are you based BTW ?

Dilutes Mon, 04/13/2009 - 08:30

I think he's a gold champagne not a palomino champagne as he'd carry no cream (parents don't have it to pass it on).

I'm no expert on champagnes though, I'd just love to own one :D

looks like the same color almost as my gold champagne TWH gelding I lost when he was starting to get his winter woolies his first couple of years (every year after his 2 y/o year he'd stay darker in the winter, but not as dark as summer coat)
He looks to me like he might be champagne AND silver dilute :)
How are you seeing silver? Silver doesn't express on red base coats.

accphotography Mon, 04/13/2009 - 22:11

Gold is a red base, yes, but while we may see a gold with no silver, PPG may see an amber with silver. I'm just saying I don't necessarily think she meant silver was acting on red.

So you think the sire could carry cream too? I thought if they carried cream and champagne (just copy of each even) that they can look like a dd except for the hazel eyes? Or am I getting mixed up with pearl?

~Tasha~ Tue, 04/14/2009 - 07:12

wow its all very confusing lol glad my other horse is just a plain ole chestnut or is she?
:flower

I can't see the dam carrying cream but hey that doesn't mean she doesn't

A part arab silver dapple might have to do Jenks? Yes the hard part with the bigger ones is getting such lovely contrast like the minis.
I sure hope to breed one, one day!

Yes. Let me just get my order in now. And it must be at least 15hh as I am 5'10.75" tall with a short body and cursedly long legs. At least a large girthed hoss is required.

peruvianpasogal Tue, 04/14/2009 - 20:42

His color is light like the silver champagnes are, besides I dont see cream in mom or dad (that is them listed isnt it)

As someone with a cursedly long body and itty bitty legs, let me tell you how absolutely jealous I am. At least you don't have to double wrap your stirrups or ride in pony leathers.

Black silver champaign 3/4 arab, preferably with some chrome, 14.2hh with a pony like attitude please if we're putting in orders. lol.

Baby looks like a gold champaign to me
