Brindle pinto on CL

If I had lots of money to throw around I'd buy him (and geld him) just to have a brindle :) http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/grd/2474567730.html

Wasn't someone mentioning before that they think all brindles are either chimeric or that its dun related?

So would the consensus be that this guy is a chimera? He's really neat!

There are really many different ways that a horse can appear brindle. Chimerism and extensive dun-factor as mentioned, can also be caused by sooty, curly hair texture, skewed white patterns, somatic mutation, pigment error, unusual graying patterns.

I wouldn't be surprised if this guy was chimeric to be honest. Chimerism so far hasn't been found to affect white pattern placement or formation. Looks like he could be either that or sooty brindle. Unfortunately the images aren't very clear.

I agree!
If I ever become a rich old eccentric lady my hobby will be getting unusually colored horses tested and brindles tested for chimerism. :rofl

I LOVE his white marking on his left ear!!!!! Too bad I don't have the money or extra space for him. He'd be really neat to have.

Third: Yup that's him. Same sire in the pedigree as they have in the pics that Threndoy posted the link to.
