Not unless it was hidden in the dam side. Sire was straight Tobiano. She gets more white hairs there the older she gets, but still not very defined. It confuses everyone that meets her. They also think she's a stallion for some reason, until I inform them that she is infact a mare. lol!

Rabicano and sabino can both be VERY minimal.
It is also HIGHLY unlikely that your horses sire was JUST tobiano.
Sabino and minimal splash are
Sabino and minimal splash are thought to be the cause of "normal" white markings and therefore present in almost all horses.
White roany spots like this are commonly blamed on sabino but as the others said it could be rabicano. Does she have any white hairs at the base of the tail or opposite flank?
Nope, not really. None on the
Nope, not really. None on the opposite flank and like maybe one or two hairs in her tail. She also has white hairs throughout her mane.
Just chalk it up to sabino.
Just chalk it up to sabino. Its why we have the goat (sabino scape goat). :sabino

Sometimes horses get weird white. I had a pony with a huge white heavily consentrated roan patch that I still have no explanation for... and now my18 year old Arab has started developing huge birdcatcher spots...
this mare I would for sure chalk up to sabino. Hardly a doubt. especially since its progressive.
Do you have pics of her full body or her patents? Or just their names and maybe we can find them?
I don't have any pics of her
I don't have any pics of her sire and dam, but here's a scan of her papers

and the most recent full body shot of her left side, can't really see the spot I'm talking about though.

I also have her on all breed pedigree, here's the link to see more of her pedigree.

No pixs of her sire, but his line obviously carries both splash and sabino with plenty of face white (no face white on tobiano).
Well, if you go far enough
Well, if you go far enough back in her pedigree (use the allbreed link) she does have some tovero that's listed. I'm not sure, just asking opinions. :)
I'd probably just go with
I'd probably just go with sabino, unless this progresses further to tell if it is rabicano or not. Also, if a tobiano horse has any face white whatsoever, it is more than tobiano.

Thanks guys. No body on my other forum could figure it out or back up what they were telling me with facts. I really like it here. :D
You'll find that everyone
You'll find that everyone here is pretty particular about having actual proof. We toss around theories and do research into pedigrees (and occasionally debate amongst ourselves), but scientific proof is what we strive for.

That's Awesome! I most of the people on the onther forum go by their 'personal' experiences, which are good to have but not always the case. Most won't get a second opinion and think what ever they say/think/do is right and if you think otherwise, you're a bad person and are wrong. :argue <----A lot of this happens.

You'll find that we tend to avoid using "overo" and "tovero" as descriptor terms here, since they encompass either 3 totally separate patterns that aren't tobiano or all 4 patterns. :HB

The only reason I used that
The only reason I used that term is because that's how they decribed it in her pedigree.
Color on pedigree?
:rofl We have all learned to never trust a pedigree or registry when it comes to determining a particular horses color or pattern potential...they are so often WRONG...lol
Lol! Oh I know. My stallion's
Lol! Oh I know. My stallion's sire is registered as a Buckskin Tovero and his dam is registered as a Black Tobiano, my guy is registered a Dun Tobiano. Figure that one out! Lol!
Took a new pic of her belly
Took a new pic of her belly white today. Figured I'd post it for ya'll. Don't know if it's all that good (and you see my shadow), but it's the most recent.

Whilst I am a HUGE fan of the sabino scapegoat, I am not sure this does look like sabino ticking. Of course it could be veryminimal, BUT this is on a red base, and sabino tends to express more on red....I am wondering if this might be minimal rabicano?
If it was rabicano I would
If it was rabicano I would think it would be more in the flanks.
Rabicano?
It could be rabicano, but there isn't any mention of white hairs at the tail head and I always thought that was a given in rabicano.
Yeah, she doesn't really have
Yeah, she doesn't really have any white at her tail head. She does have white throughout her mane and tail, just not directly at the tail head. This is the only 'spot' (for lack of better word) that she has this happening. Just on the left side of her barrel.
She does have 2 Bend Or spots, one on her left shoulder and the other on her right hip (Bend Or is waaaaaaay back in her pedigree.

Updated pic on her roaning/ticking. This pic is from last year (September) and I might get a new one from this year, once she sheds out the rest of the way. She is about 2 months along in this pic and is now 9 months along. We are excited to see what she throws for us this time.
