Taylor Made Fossils is now offering a cheaper set of extinct equid fossils!

I'm excited, but sadly I don't think I'll be saving up for it. Hipparion and Pliohippus likely didn't directly contribute to Equus. It would be really neat if they could have switched them out with Merychippus and Dinohippus respectively. And the example for Hipparion has two very different individual animals who contributed to the examples. The hind leg is shorter and much finer boned than the foreleg.
I also wish some teaching examples showed the leg 360 degrees around without the back of the legs being obstructed by supports, it's neat to see how the splint bones developed over time. I'm probably going to end up making my own replicas because I'm too picky  Some girls collect and make model horses, I have fossil replicas.
Not expecting everyone to understand this random babble. Had to vent somewhere. :rofl Thanks for reading this far. ^_^
They get the products from
They get the products from multiple sources. This is a set that appears to be out of date since the species I mentioned, which are no longer part of the suspected line of evolution, used to be. You have a good idea there. I think I will email them and see if they have other forms available to put together a separate leg set. ^_^
I also miss the term Eohippus. "Dawn horse" is a better descriptive than "hyrax-like beast."
I'm still cross that
I'm still cross that antiquated hide bound rules of naming have lost us the cool "Eohippus" and left us with the undescriptive "Hyrocotherium"
These are good though, but, since your point is valid why do you not email them and ask for their reasoning ?
