Woops :ymblushing: yeah I haven't been on any forums for awhile, ok yeah I'll look into getting her tested. Should be interesting. She was negative for LWO but she has really interesting "Splashy" markings on her face but the white doesn't touch her eye's so everybody on here was thinking she must be Splash/sabino.
So do I just go to the UC Davis website then to get the forms to fill out?
I think this link will get
I think this link will get you there:

Thanks I'm filling our the form now, but you know where they ask for her color should I just put Dun?? It's not spacific?? ....oh ok I see the red dun choice now, it also has a Overo choice and that's what it says on her paper's but she is Negative for frame so are they looking for what her paper's say or are they asking if she is really Frame??

Ya, mark her "Overo" I think what they are meaning is basically "not Tobiano". %-(
Oh I couldn't fill in overo just because a horse has splashy markings LOL, I don't care what UC Davic was meaning!!
LOL, yeah , I actually called today to clarify(waiting for a call back)....ok so you want me to mark this Overo box even if she's not?? Or should I say so do you want me to tell you the truth or do you want me to lie to ya?? :^O
sb1 in QHs
I am not sure why anyone would think SB1 is not in QHs, as we all know, QH lines possess more than just a few TBs (like a whole bunch more... :rofl ) I only have one SB-1 positive and she is my Paint, Patches...but she is foundation bred QH lines (all crop outs in her pedigree: she is both SB1 and frame positive and looks very splashy w/o blue eyes).
Hmmmmm well I could have
Hmmmmm well I could have swore somebody on here told me don't bother with Sabino 1 because it was more commonly found in like TWH and shetlands and not so much in QH's. It's probably even in a old thread somewhere. That being said I called Animal genetics today since they already have Annie's DNA to ask when they would start testing for SW. They said they expect to be starting testing for SW in 4-6 weeks and they would really like to test Annie because they need test subjects, so the test would be free and they will throw in in the Sabino 1 test for free as well :D Bonus \\\\:d/
YES!! thought so, here is
YES!! :bounce thought so, here is Annie's test result from UC Davis...
Coat Color results for BDB FASHION DESIGN(DT29557):

N/SW1 - Horse has one copy of the SW-1 mutation.
Splashed White SW-2 Result:

Splashed White SW-3 Result:
N/N - No copies of SW-3 mutation.
Aussie Splash whites
Im from australia, have looked the horses that have tested Neg for splash white, IMO they all look Sabino/overo they have uneven edges on there white, not flat like a true splash, so maybe they arent splash??
when i look at a true splash they have bottom heavy blazes, flat top white markings, and look like they have been dipped in paint, these horses have more uneven markings with pointy edges like sabinos...its only my opinion...
These are some of the
These are some of the splashed whites that are negative

Some of the foals are by this negative SW stallion, who consistantly throws very splash markings, as well as the more sabino ones. He's bred on the same line as the first horse, he is frame overo negative. He did test positive for sb1 at animal genetics a year or two ago, but negative for sb1 recently at UC Davis. So maybe the test is better now?!

There is no doubt in my mind that these horses are splashed white, some even are deaf. So the SW test seems only good for some lines so far
There have been many
There have been many miniature horses that have tested negative that have already been tested for sabino and are negative and they appear to have classic splashed white markings.
Here are two examples of our negative sabino and splashed white; also negative for LWO BTW. Positive for Tobiano.
Bright Blue Eyes on this one:

Both these horses have been thrown back into the research to see if there is an additional splashed white gene classification.
That is awesome! Is it ok if
That is awesome! Is it ok if I cross-post this?
Also on HGS this horse is heterozygous SW1 and has 2 brown eyes.
