Re: Lovely Arabian/Trakehner Cross Filly
Impetuous has been consigned to the Arabian Horse Times Online Auction, which starts today and goes through Oct. 17th. She is listed as #331, and bidding starts at $1000.00.
This was Imp's first schooling session over jumps as 2 year old:

Received word via breeder and sire's owner that the reserve on this filly was dropped at the last moment and she sold for $500.00. Both breeder and sire's owner would have gone and got her at that price, but they were not contacted. Trainer had earlier turned down offers up to 7x that amount and has not responded to inquiries. They would really, really like to know where she went. If she is in a good situation, great, but if she is not, or is being resold again, breeder will take her back.
Yeah, everyone was really
Yeah, everyone was really relieved to find her. The frustrating thing is, her listing price was $7900 and she was bid up to $3500 in the first auction. She didn't make reserve, yet she was the second highest selling lot in that auction. I thought that was really impressive, considering she was a warmblood mix, not shown, with an unknown pedigree, in a low market. The trainer obviously trains for the purebred showring, and all of what I just listed doesn't usually ring a lot of bells there. I thought he should have let her go then.
The breeder called him up and asked if they could help, and he was apparently quite rude. The sire's owner tried to help too and fielded private offers that were higher and he still wouldn't let her go. He wouldn't even respond to them. Fast forward to now, and she's been on the feed/training bill for a year, and the market is rock bottom. The horse world is small. People know she's got a high reserve. He doesn't seem to think much of her, which turns off the show ring clients, and he's not marketing her to the open/sporthorse crowd, which is what she was bred for. I'm guessing at this point he just wanted her gone. It's pretty sad though, because he cut off his nose to spite his face. He could have made a lot more money if he had just worked with them.

The lady in CA has called the breeder and said, due to her own health issues, Imp is being put back on the market. Please contact http://www.ancientoakssporthorse.com (numbers are on the website) if you are interested in getting in touch with the seller.
No. They haven't sold a horse
No. They haven't sold a horse under saddle since Ironstone (which was a disaster). They have one foal on the property, who is not theirs but is for sale. They are expecting one foal next year. Impetuous is on the market and Maestro should also be this spring. Ironstone has disappeared.
