What is with this Appaloosa?

I found a couple of oddly varnishing appaloosas with weird heat white on their brow. Made me think of Comico.

Horse has lightening marks, which is a good indication that it originally had a blanket. I'd put money on it just roaning out, or maybe there's a grey gene involved as well.

Not unusual. Sometimes the white occurs like that. I need to find the website again, but there was a leopard foal with solid neck. Looked like the foal was wearing a mask because his head white was isolated from the rest of it on him.

EDIT: Not the foal I was looking for but another example of it.

Time will tell! If it's a mismark, it should stay that color. If it's just a patch of base coat color (often seen on near-leopards) it'll be subject to LP roaning. I'm inclined to believe it's the latter. It just doesn't have the look of a mismark to me.
