What color is this foal?

Isn't perlino red based?
From what I can find on color descriptions; cremello is black based and perlino is red based (palomino with cream gene). So, for this baby to be perlino, it would need to have 2 red genes?
It seems highly unlikely that this foal would have gotten a red gene from both the sire and dam. Both are black, but not homozygous so it is possible, just not probable.
Also, the coloring in tail and mane appears black based (mousey) not reddish. So that would indicate black base, which then indicates she can't be perlino. Or am I reading too much! lol

No, Cremello is red based. Perlino is bay based (which is also black based). And Smokey Cream is black based.

Depends on the genotypes of both parents. If the sire is Aa, then there is a 50:50 shot of getting Aa or aa. Do you know the colors of the sire and dams parents? We can give you more exact percentages for foal options. Right now all we can get is the dam is E? aa CcrCcr and the sire is E? A? CcrC Z?.
Sire is silver buckskin. he
Sire is silver buckskin. he has sired several silver bays. Sire's sire is Buckskin & Sire's dam is registered sorrel (although pic looks chestnut - mane & tail are red)
Dam is smokey black. Dam's sire is cremello and dam's dam is registered black (she was out of grey pinto & dark bay)
From the parents, we know the
From the parents, we know the silver buckskin is Ee A? CcrC Z?. Has he ever had non-silver foals? How about black/silver black foals?
The smokey black is Ee aa CcrC zz.
Based on those two, your possible outcomes are:
Black
Bay
Chestnut (with or without silver)
Smokey black
Buckskin
Palomino (with ot without silver)
Smokey cream
Perlino
Cremello (with or without silver)
Silver Black
Silver Bay
Silver smokey black
Silver buckskin
Silver smokey cream
Silver perlino
If the sire is AA, then you can rule out all the black-based options (ie- no blacks, silver blacks, smokey creams, etc). If the sire is ZZ, then you can rule out all the non-silver options.
Looks perlino or smokey cream
Looks perlino or smokey cream to me.
