Black, brown, or bay?

We're talking about this guy on the Welsh boards... I'd always thought he was black, but looking at his pictures I'm thinking bay... His dam was chestnut gone grey and sire is bay. Gail says no creme under the grey. What do you think? http://www.gayfieldswelshponies.com/pedigrees/harry.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; She pulled some hair, so we'll know the answer soon...

Definitely not black or bay. That is the very definition of seal brown. If she's only testing for agouti he will end up coming back 'Aa', but he's still brown. LOL

Hmmm. I thought brown had a brown muzzle? I've not paid attention to the signs other then muzzle and a degree of light brown tone in the crevice areas. But I thought they had to have a brown muzzle?

The first thing I looked for was a brown muzzle and I do not see one.
That notwithstanding, I think he is Brown, although we think the nose "muff" happens in adults we have no proof it has to happen, and he looks Brown to me!!

I had a look on his pedigree. His dams dad is palomino + grey, I can´t say for his dam, because she seems to have only two foals, one the mentioned stallion one a grey filly with no information about her birth colour.
