Yippee!!!

I just bought my plane tickets to New Zealand! :D After months of having to do this, that and the other thing, plus a few kitchen sinks here or there, I finally got approval from the university for my internship. And with the economy in the toilet, the ticket price dropped from over $3000 to only $900 including all fees. *happy dance* :bounce

Well, I think the idea was tossed around from when I first joined the old forum so it would be almost three years now. I need to start another ticker for it....now that it really is down to months.

Lordy, a countdown ticker is gonna make me nervous! :laugh1

Darnit. Time to start cleaning Diane!
Congrats MP. How long will you get to stay?

Monsterpony Thu, 03/26/2009 - 22:12

I am going for a little more than 4 weeks. From the end of October to the end of November so I will be there for breeding season.

Well, I am a sucker for a good accent (I spent my first month in Europe drooling anytime someone spoke to me...mmmmmm :love ....accenty goodness!).

NZ Appaloosas Sat, 03/28/2009 - 03:17

And my BIL is still single...and not much older than MP :angel

Vneer, if I clean now, I'll just have to clean again in October! :laugh1

Someone once told me that you should not clean before company, but after. :?
So if she is staying with you, just find a place to put all the stuff that is piled on her bed. (under it?...dustbunnies move over)

My BIL bought his house at age 21...purty ain't necessary! LOL I always do a big clean the week before company arrives, especially overseas company...means I don't have to be as pedantic in between visitors, and don't have to worry about getting corners cleaned properly every week! :laugh1

Congrats MP - start that ticker... Just remember, we expect LOTS of pixs (and not just of those georgeous Aussies either - please throw in a horse or two along with a bit of scenery) :love
Diane, you clean twice a year? Wow, don't tell my hubby, he'd actually expect it of me, too... :laugh1

NZ Appaloosas Sun, 03/29/2009 - 18:45

First off, she ain't goin' nowhere near any Aussies! LOL Australia is about 1400 km across "the ditch" (read Tasman Sea) from the west coast of the South Island. West coast is about a 5 or 6 hour drive from Christchurch

Secondly, the only housework I do is wash laundry (half the time hang it out, other times others hang it out, and once dry, move it to a pile for someone else to fold), wash dishes/pots (and others empty the dish-drain), and clean the bathroom. The rest of the housework gets done for me, including the cooking. :angel So yeah, I break down right before visitors are due, and do a major clean--washing walls, etc.,--and of course, everyone else in the house has to follow suit. :whip
