I'm pretty excited about this little QH colt, and though he looks a little scraggly right now I just got him and I'm hoping he'll do the "swan trick" for me. He's a yearling (so excuse the ugly duckling syndrome!) and has barely been in my possession for 16 hours. His dad is a bay silver (dam is Champs Paige Cat, also a bay silver, sire is a chestnut) and his mom is a grullo, possibly with a cream gene, she hasn't been tested. What shade of silver do you think this boy is? Pictures of him are in his winter coat and foal coat. I'll be pulling hair tonight for color testing, but it's fun to speculate in the meantime :)

For me its the redness of the foal coat and the difference between the lower leg and body as a yearling.
below is an example of a typical silver black. See how the foal coat is more of a buff shade?

I don't have any photos of a silver brown foal.
There is this photo in the gallery but it's an adult horse.

I think he's silver brown with a faded foal coat. It could be silver buckskin though.
