I think she is something else too ACC but no I never tested her... All the drama started!!! LOL I may be wrong but with the amber eye and color and molting I lean toward champain but hey i do not study like you guys LOL.. and on patterns I know Frame, I think splash and tobi... JMO
Isn't she tobiano too?

Did you ever have her tested for anything? I still say she's not just a buckskin.
I do not believe mara is tobiano, slim chance, need to research her pedigree, but I have seen her in person and im 85% sure she is not tobiano, still part of me isnt a 100% sure.

The photo of little man was about 10 hrs old and we put him down about 3 hrs later..
Also for anyone who DOES not know me or situation.... I was assured the stallion was OLWS neg... so please do not judge... I was extremely heart broken and wish I had of ask for proof but I did not.

Daylene Alford Thu, 06/18/2009 - 18:33

Those pics are great Jodi thanks so much. I was thinking about asking for a pic of the foal but wasn't sure if it was appropriate. I will add the foal and at least one of Mara to the gallery tomorrow. How would you like the photo credits to read?

Jodi Thu, 06/18/2009 - 19:04

You can do the credits any way you think is best! ;) Im not picky!!! If you want differnt foal pic I have them as well. At birth etc.. Or anything that may help you with Frame, different angles etc.

CM I waited a bit after birth (obviously) the vet came as well... it was quite apparent A because he was in distress B because as seen the look of him... but i hoped for the best out come.. The pic posted was after a shot of banamine. When my vet finally put him down he was in extreme distress and I would not nor could not let him suffer. No test could be done in that short time frame. Such a horrible shame as he was such a nice looking foal.

ACC if you or anyone want to look at pedigree her reg name is CR RYTHEM N BLUES... she is on all breed... any opinions are welcome! :D

Heather Thu, 06/18/2009 - 19:07

CM ...that foal is an example of why anyone breeding paints of any pattern should have the parents LWO tested before they are bred together 8-) even my tobiano filly will be tested before she is bred just on the slim chance she might be ...especially since Id like to use a frame+ stallion.

Jodi Thu, 06/18/2009 - 19:15

DITTO Heather... and FYI in case someone dosent agree just look at it this way... I have had horses for more than 25 yrs and never once bred till then... I trusted the stud owner and did NOT ask to see his test results but was pos my mare was def frame....He ASSURED me he was neg!!!!!!!!! It was a horrible lesson learned. I cant change what happened but I can admitt i should have been more responsible and I am stronglu against breeding the 2 together..... it isnt worth it.... BTW if you think the chances are 50/50 or 75/25 either way the 1 time you end up w a sweet little face you have to put down will cure you

Sabino: Without obvious splash

Other Markings: Lacing, bird catcher, bend Or etc
I can get you Tickle for sabino without splash (at least I don't think she has splash... now that I think of it maybe I'm wrong because one of her previous foals looks kind of splashy...) and I have lots of ponies with Bend Ors so I'll get those photographed for you.

Jodi, such a sad photo of your little guy. I tell everyone who thinks of breeding their paint/pinto mare about him so they will TEST.

rabbitsfizz Fri, 06/19/2009 - 03:11

I would lay money Tickle has Splash, but it isn't obvious, so I would think her pictures would do as an example.
You are welcome to use Rabbit for Red Dun+ Flaxen, Splash in minimal and possibly Pangare....HOW do I get an accent over my "e"???????

Maigray Fri, 06/19/2009 - 14:30

Sabino. I'm certain splash is there as well, but..I'm hard pressed to find something that might not have both when the markings go outside the norm. Perhaps Rhevelation, because he has so much roaning, would be more appropriate. I can also try and get back in touch with the owner of Magnum Spatz, but there again I run into the same debate - splash or sabino?

accphotography Fri, 06/19/2009 - 14:43

I think the recent dominant white article may have implied KK might be DW but they haven't proven it yet. Maybe I read that wrong.

For now splash and sabino would be the obvious guesses for them. Rhocky Rhoad actually could pass for a horse with no splash to someone who doesn't know the family.
