What Patterns

found a disc with some pictures of horses from a Boy Scout Camp I used to work at. We had quite a few pintos my first 3 years there...which is what these guys are from. I'm gonna toss on what I think they have...you can correct me....or add to what I think :D first horse is Paleface...I'm gonna say Sabino/Frame/Splash. It doesn't show up well, but he did have sabino-like roaning throughout his colored hair. That's my fellow wrangler that first year riding him for a 4th of July parade [img]http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k8/Ponybeads/hossmarkings/PalefaceDev…] [img]http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k8/Ponybeads/hossmarkings/Paleface2.j…] [img]http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k8/Ponybeads/hossmarkings/Paleface1.j…] [img]http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k8/Ponybeads/hossmarkings/Paleface.jp…] Next up was one of my favorites..we only had him my first year there. He died of colic the winter between my 1st and 2nd year. He was my little "mountain goat". No one else much liked him and I guess he had a reputation from previous years (biting people, kicked one wrangler in the stomach, charging out in the field)...but I never had an issue with him. His name was Fire Charmer (it previously had been Diablo from what staff before told me though..haha) And the little bay Hackney/Shetland in two pictures with him is Buz. Splash/Tobiano on Fire and Splash on Buz? [img]http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k8/Ponybeads/hossmarkings/BuzFire3.jp…] [img]http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k8/Ponybeads/hossmarkings/BuzFire2.jp…] [img]http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k8/Ponybeads/hossmarkings/OliverFireN…] (the big grey closest to camera in this picture had pinto and appy looking markings on his body when you soaked him down with water...lol) and next..for now, is Nico. He was a paint/arabian cross. The only thing you can't really see in these pics, the tip of his tail--skin was pink..so he had about a quarter sized area of white hair running down the middle of his black tail. I say Splash for Nico [img]http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k8/Ponybeads/hossmarkings/Nico2.jpg[/…] [img]http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k8/Ponybeads/hossmarkings/Nico.jpg[/i…] [img]http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k8/Ponybeads/hossmarkings/Nico3.jpg[/…] and I think that is it for now...I'll keep digging around and see what else I have from those 4 summers :)

Last one, splash and maybe sabino?
second one Tobi and splash maybe?
First one - agree with frame! and I don't know about splash, but sabino probably

on that first one I kept adding splash and taking it away..adding it, and taking it away..LOL

Jenks Fri, 06/25/2010 - 10:12

Ya - I think that eyeliner though is associated with sabino? I can't remember if it was and then proven otherwise or what....??LOL Or was it splash? I have serious CRS.

Oh..and because you can't see it clearly--Paleface and Nico both have two, clear blue eyes.

Sabino causes eyeliner, yup.

I agree with you on all of them and definitely splash on the first.

Sabino/Tobiano for Buz, no Splash.
Sabino/Tobiano on the Red and White with Buz, again, no Splash.
First one, yes, Frame, +?? Sabino alone, I think....

So that HUGE bald face (nearly bald head) that is bottom heavy and falls off one side isn't splash!?
