What colour is she?

First of all will she keep the spots or will they fade is the question... :) also what colour would you call her?Her dam is a few spot and her sire is a leopard spot :D [img]http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q130/tanzaniteminiaturehorses/025.jp…]

It's hard to tell from the lighting and angle of that photo, but I think she's a large blanket. I strongly suspect she will roan out (but her spots should stay and she may even get more... I'm thinking she may eventually appear as a leopard).

I really hope you don't mind, but I was trying to see the spots better myself so I upped the contrast a bit to see.

Terribly cute foal, I must say!

anyway, if you don't want me posting those just say so and I'll take them down, I just thought maybe it'd help if anyone else's monitor was giving them trouble seeing like mine was. on mine it was very washed out though, I really couldn't see other than the larger spots.

Would she be one of those cases of a PATN1&2? If she (or one of the parents) is a blanket/leopard.

It's foals like this that support the theory of multiple genes controlling the amount of white seen. However, having said that, do we know that the dam is indeed a fewspot and not a roaned-out blanket?

Can we see photos of the dam? Before reading she was a fewspot, I thought she was grey from the little I can see, and foal appears to have the grey around his eyes...

What a cutie! Near leopard that is probably going gray. If she does turn gray, then yes, the spots will eventually fade.

I cannot see any spots on the Dam and I think the chances are she amy be Grey, in which case there is a 50/50 chance the foal will Grey too.
Do you know the Dams bloodlines??

tanzanite Fri, 07/10/2009 - 04:11

yeah the mare has spot on her back and on front legs and also her muzzle is covered in spots..

More pictures would be helpful. From what I can see, the spots on the dam look faded, like they're slowing disappearing. That means grey.

That's exactly what I was seeing.

It may be my monitor but the one picture I see shows just a small bit of the mares side....

Thanks, I can see that now...the picture was tiny on my screen for some reason and I could see nothing :laugh1
