I need to register this filly asap and am confused as to her true colour. She is by my palomino stallion out of a grey mare that was born buckskin. She was palomino coloured at birth with pink skin and blue eyes. The palomino colour faded very quickly to a cream, so I decided she is cremello. I am aware she may grey out but at this stage you can still see her stockings and her body is pale cream. Should I register her as cremello? Any help is appreciated!

foal looks palomino to me in that picture, with the chance of going grey
any more pics of her that show how faded she got? What color are her eyes currently? Skin? Double cream dilutes keep the pink skin all over and blue eyes (lighter blue, not dark blue..almost a sky blue? But can sometimes have bits of green to them)

thanks for your reply. I did at first think she was definately a blue eyed palomino but she faded to paly cream within 2 weeks. All her skin is pink and her eyes are the same colour blue as my other cremello. That's what has thrown me. I will post a current pic of her tonight.

You can pull hairs and test and receive online or email results pretty quickly...I would say pali with splash too, but as sire is pali and dam was a buckskin, neither cremello nor perlino is not out of the question. And then throw grey into the mix and it all goes wonky...

Thanks everyone, that was my first thought, blue eyed palomino. I had a couple of other breeders say "no, she's cremello" so got confused!
I will register her as palomino going grey and if she is cremello, bonus to whoever buys her!
