I was looking through a site that is about the Thoroughbred and ancestry. I came across a painting of an early horse identified as a barb, I'm thinking Arabian not true Barb. What do you think the base color is? I see a few Bend Or and Chubari spots, but what other patterns do you see? Would also say sabino, splash too --- but not white. I never saw greying occur in this way - with a mane that fair the tail is far to dark. Base colour would be bay, but to get this mane and body colour I would expect something else active.

I am certain we have discussed this horse before, on the old Forum, and, at the time, it was identified as Sabino, but that was before DW was isolated.
Nowadays I'm pretty sure it would be identified as DW
