What color of champagne is this?

I recently adopted a 3 year old champagne filly. I've been reading online about champagne color genetics, and I do plan to get her tested.... out of curiosity I would like to know what she is. I'm sort of thinking she may be a classic cream champagne, but.....well....? What do you all think? I will post a couple pictures I recently took because her winter coat is a bit more darker than her summer coat, pardon her dirty blotches, LOL. Hi there RedHayflinger....good to see you on here!

Thank you for the info and help..... I do keep going back and forth between amber and classic... I can see where the amber would fit in.

Oh, what an ugly color... send her to me, I'll make sure she's well taken care of so you don't have to look at her anymore! ;)

I LOVE champagne, someday I'll have one! I'm not great with champagne colors by any means, but I agree with the post above mine.

LOL. Thank you! She's a sweet girl, I don't have her yet, I only just adopted her last week and will pick her up in the next couple of weeks, I am so excited! I believe she has TWH bloodlines, altho we aren't for certain.

I guess her pale color threw me off for a bit, but yes you are right about the cream part, after looking online at more of the cream champagne horses they were extremely light and nearly pearly white.

I don't think i've ever seen an amber champ. this light in body before....I've only seen a few though in person and a handful online(and computer monitors can distort color some too)...and the lighter ones I have seen had darker legs.

at any rate..she is lovely...can't wait to see test results if/when you get her tested :D

I am pretty sure she is a Classic Cream Champers - here's another my friend owns this one also carries silver too so that is also a possibility - are you going to test - and congrats - she is lovely !

Aha! Thank you!! I had been wondering about the classic cream.... but... LOL...
I was getting all confused and I am still rather new to the champagne world.

Yes, I do plan to have her tested. I will never breed her, but I just find color genetics fun and I think it'd be neat to know what she is for sure.

Oh my gosh your friend's horse is adorable!!!

Oh? So her points could still darken then too? I didn't realize that. Lemme think now, she is actually going on 4 now that I think about it..... being a rescue they were not sure of her exact date of birth.

I don't think this is just amber either. Something is just... not right. I've seen alot of ambers, yet not one quite like this. Something about her looks classic... but then it doesn't. I was thinking amber cream, but she's too dark for that. So yup I'm going to agree with Lipi and say classic cream.

Thanks everyone!

True.... there is just something else there going on, I am thinking a cream connection.... testing will shed some light on it so I am looking forward to having that done.

Well this is a sable cream:

This is a classic cream:

This is an amber cream:

Plain amber:

Of course they don't all look exactly alike so it's hard to say, but I feel sure she's not just an amber.

Ok, this is a rare shot of the same Champagne stallion my friend owns - this is him unclipped in pasture condition but bere in mind that he also carried silver and look how dramatic his colouring is now in a autumn/winter coat......I do think your mare is the SAME classic Champagne colour because of this as she is in a summer coat which is deceptive -

and more of him clipped and in show weight condition -

See how different they look in summer and winter coats.

Oh wow, yes he is so close to the same color as my mare, it's interesting!
Geez he is a cute little guy!

Thank you for the links, it's really fun to read about it all, so many types of champagne horses.
