This weekend's show pictures and results Page 3

Here’s Frodo from the last show. They aren’t the best, but shows how much he’s learning. I really proud at how versatile he's become and I think his trainer is doing a fabulous job with him. She loves how easy going and willing he is. We're hoping with enough showing, he'll eventually get the idea that he doesn't need to show his woody. Though this show he kept it together for most of the classes and "relaxed" outside. The trainer was also mistaken in that Frodo got Double Supremes in halter instead of a Reserve! :bounce Double Supreme Halter Division Champion English Pleasure Reserve Division Champ Pleasure Driving Then a bunch of seconds and thirds in Western Pleasure and he tanked in the trail classes. This was also his debut in a curb bit. Jane said he was super in it and loose rein all the way! My little boy is growing up! LOL. I am over the moon with him! It'll make Silo's baby that more special for us.
She's gotta go soon... She's so big! We thought it would be this weekend, but we were wrong.

Andrea Tue, 04/14/2009 - 12:58

Yep, he's a Section A Welsh. Also the lady riding him is about 5 foot, maybe a little under. I had concernes she would be too big for Frodo, but he has no problem with her riding. They just float along.
Next weekend he debuts in Low Hunter classes. So he's really learning a bunch and he's much happier for it!

Haha, you should see me on Cory! I'm 5'8"! Really, these little guys are strong and have no trouble carrying a small adult.

OK! I'll be waiting for pictures! Really. We need new Cory pictures!

He's almost done shedding so I'll get some then. They probably won't be of me on him though. I'll see if I can get someone shorter up there. He can carry me because I'm light, but I really do look ridiculous!

Andrea Tue, 04/14/2009 - 16:37

That's why I want to see pictures silly! Comic relief :laugh1
He looked so cute tacked up it'll be cool to see him riding. I get a kick out of seeing pictures of Frodo that Jane sends me. I keep pinching myself as I can't believe he's mine and doing so well!

Sara Tue, 04/14/2009 - 21:36

haha, well there is one photo in existence of me on his back. He was standing in the barn aisle and I felt like sitting on him so I did (tackless, of course) and my daughter whipped out her phone and took a photo. Now she reminds me every so often that she has it and threatens to send it to FHOTD.

I don't think I ever posted this one. I took this one day when my daughter was hacking him so he's not all groomed for a show or anything... I'll really need to polish him up to compete with your shiny Frodo pics! I always braid his forelock when I ride him because it's so long I think it interferes with his sight.

He is too freaking cute! What a good boy!
Too bad Susanne didn't breed any more As this year. I always love looking at baby pictures!
So.... What's your daughter's phone number... Really... We're just going to set up a surprise birthday party for you. So act surpised... LOL.
That is one picture that would be FUN to see!

Well Andrea seeing as you are SO disappointed in Frodo and he is doing sooo poorly in the show ring - I guess I can take him off your hands. Just hide him out here in the back corner of the pasture, far away from prying eyes - :angel :laugh1 I love little Frodo and think he'd make my granddaughter a great birthday present...when you get tired of him of course... :rofl

Well another two day show. The sad part is that they had enough ponies to do a Gold show. So that would have been a ton of extra points. But He ended the weekend with:

Division Champion Low Hunters

Reserve Division Champion Western Pleasure

Reserve Division Champion English Pleasure

Supreme Champion Halter

Grand Champion Halter

I am so proud of him! This was his Debut in Low Hunters and he won the division championship against a class of 7 more experienced ponies.
Here's the pics:

This was his stall door yesterday afternoon. This was even before all the awards were handed out!

Congratulations!! Are you sure he's not just winning because he's just so irresistable?? :love

Do you mean that they did not have enough ponies to do a Gold Show? Oh, and when are you offering shipped goods? ;)

I don't care why he wins... As long as he wins!

They had the numbers to have the Gold rating, but they only applied for Silver because they didn't think they would have such a large turn out. Once you apply for a rating, they won't bump you up if you meet the requirements. They will lower your rating if you don't have the numbers. So it doesn't seem right. That would have been a lot of points if they had gotten Gold rated. Oh well. I'm happy with the way it turned out. I still have a hard time believing he's doing so well. Someone pinch me! :booty

Who was judging? Where are the hunter pics? are you thinking of showing him in open driving or hunters or will you stick to the Welsh circuit?

Huge congratulations! You must be getting quite the collection of ribbons in your tack room!

Hunter pics are going to have to wait until the trainer sends pictures. I wasn't able to be there on Saturday when the hunter classes were going. I think we did get a video of it through the show photographer. There was a miscommunication. It wasn't $40 a show... It was $40 a CLASS :o ouch! It should be on the DVD. I'll have to see if there's a way to You Tube it.

Right now I want to focus on the Welsh shows and LOM. That's been my goal as to me it an award that shows not only it can perform, but meets breed standard in halter as well. I was hoping Frodo would finish this year and I could advertise him next, but I don't think he'll be going to as many shows as first planned.

I have been toying with the idea of finding out what the "Sport Pony" registry and inspections entail. What would he have to do to meet the requirements. I think he may be too small though?
