usernames?

I was just wondering how you chose your usernames - mine is an old prefix we own from our days of breeding bengal cats SU + PA + SPOT = sue + patrick + spot , we dont breed the bengals any more but we do have a couple of spotty miniatures

NZ Appaloosas Wed, 04/01/2009 - 19:13

we breed appaloosas, live in New Zealand which is abbreviated NZ...and there you go! Highly original! :laugh1

Morgan Wed, 04/01/2009 - 20:40

For years I was DangerRanch because that's what we named our farm in Alabama.
Now it's just my name, Morgan.
Elswhere I use MogHut because I was playing a video game with my brother and the name you enter could only be three letters so he became Dav (Dave) and punched in Mog for me  , my last name is Hutchings so it became MogHut.

Krickette Wed, 04/01/2009 - 20:58

My mom calls me Cricket because my knees rub together, but I never liked how it was spelled, so I changed it to Krickette when I was in middle school, lol. It's just a nickname.

vneerland Wed, 04/01/2009 - 22:20

Mine is an affix that goes with my dogs. ;) And the affix has to do with the breed and their and my origin all at the same time.

accphotography Wed, 04/01/2009 - 22:34

Mine is obvious. :rofl (ACC are my maiden initials in case you didn't know. They're ACM now but I kept the C for my business because I was already known as that.)

RiddleMeThis Wed, 04/01/2009 - 23:04

Mine is the show name for a horse that is very very dear to me.

Dilutes Wed, 04/01/2009 - 23:16

Dilutes because I really like a lot of dilute colours in horses as they're not common and yet quite often attractive.

nerd Thu, 04/02/2009 - 01:48

nerd because--well that's pretty self-explanatory :-B
Although I was pretty normal compared to my average colleague in undergrad...

Sara Thu, 04/02/2009 - 01:52

I was countercanter after one of my favorite quotations -- "One man's wrong lead is another man's counter canter."

Now I'm just Sara, which is really my name.

Krickette, I thought forever that that was your real name!

dakotakdq Thu, 04/02/2009 - 03:42

Mine is my fav horse I lost to cancer back in 2002 :(

Dakota was his name & kdq was his brand.

lipigirl Thu, 04/02/2009 - 08:15

I used to breed Lipizzaners and still own one although he is currently on loan, I now just have the 1 stallion in my avatar who is a 28" AMHA boy and his BMHS girlfriend and I have a Bay Paso Fino for riding.

Monsterpony Thu, 04/02/2009 - 10:40

Mine is the nickname of one of my favorite ponies of all time. He was the first I trained to drive and was my go-to pony for all my little kid private lessons. I called him a monsterpony because, until he was trained to drive and got to do more than deal with little kids, he was the biggest trouble maker.

He was diagnosed with Cushing-like syndrome in 2001 and succumb to complications in fall 2007.

Well my name is Pamela & I live in TX. Pretty easy!! lol

TheRedHayflinger Thu, 04/02/2009 - 12:54

I own a haflinger..but she is the more red sorrel than that light lemony sorrel...and I call her a hay-flinger

so.. TheRedHayflinger :)

TwinCreeksFarm Thu, 04/02/2009 - 14:56

I enjoy reading these lol. But mine is also boring, it's my farm's name. Twin Creeks Farm.

Sara Thu, 04/02/2009 - 15:50
I own a haflinger..but she is the more red sorrel than that light lemony sorrel...and I call her a hay-flinger

That's the color ours is too. (My client's really, and for sale, want another?) The vet says she sees more of the pale ones and really likes red Maggie!

TheRedHayflinger Thu, 04/02/2009 - 17:50

i find the pale ones all too common...

I like me a red haffy :D

It's funny...I once told a longtime haffy breeder my girls color....and he guessed her height, built and pedigree lines darn close...said she was a lovely old line bred old type haffy (she's about 13.1hh and stocky...like a good mountain pony SHOULD be!)

critterkeeper Thu, 04/02/2009 - 18:04

Well, I'm Critterkeeper because - I keep a lot of different types of critters - :laugh1 . This farm has so many different species that the local feed store had to broaden their feed selections - LOL.... (atleast we don't keep snakes or reptiles anymore)... :bounce :bounce :bounce

supaspot60 Thu, 04/02/2009 - 18:38

I really enjoyed reading this - some made me laugh :rofl ( krickette ) :laugh1 and some made me sad ( dakota / monsterpony) :( and some I had already guessed ( critterkeeper ) but all of them are very interesting
and sara I agree , thats a great quotation !

Sara Thu, 04/02/2009 - 20:40

My client's Haflinger is about 14.2 but definitely stocky. Some of the ones I've seen in photos look more like riding ponies but this one is drafty. To me anyway.

Gander Thu, 04/02/2009 - 22:35

Gander was one of my favorite racehorses...big, angular gray horse who raced for many years (turning ever-lighter year after year - fun to watch!).

Krickette Fri, 04/03/2009 - 00:01
I was countercanter after one of my favorite quotations -- "One man's wrong lead is another man's counter canter."

Krickette, I thought forever that that was your real name!
I had someone from a forum I met in real life, and she was very dissapointed that I didn't go by krickette 24/7.

My mom started calling me that one day and refused to explain why until very recently.

I am terribly knock-kneed, and when I was really little and showing in 4H and had to stand next to whatever animal, my mom would always fuss at me to put my feet together, but then when I did, she'd tell me i looked like i had to pee. If my knees are together, my feet can only go about 6 inches apart, but that hurts me...
anyways, when i walk, my mom says it reminds her of a cricket.

however, before she ever started calling me that, I read a short story, and the girl in it's name was Cricket, which was a nickname for Catherine. My name is Katherine, so in elementary school I wanted Kricket to be my nickname.

There are also several animals named after me, lol!!! Someone on a forum named a fish after me (cause I have so many), and someone else on a forum actually named a horse Krickette, because she said it was a neat name, but I thought it was very cool.
[img]http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k304/…]
Krickette the horse (who is veeery pregnant, lol!)

Morgan Fri, 04/03/2009 - 00:29

hehe, it's a good thing there isnt a conformation manuel for humans :laugh1
I'm pigeon toed, it takes an effort to make sure my legs clear each other and my heels even are sloped lower on the outside and very very hogh arches. I can't run at all, I either waddle or twist my ankle. :? It's part of the reason too that I hate riding with stirrups, the western stirrups allways seem to tilt the other way, which is exagerated for me.

Fledgesflight Fri, 04/03/2009 - 01:45

Fledgesflight...I loved reading the Narnia novels when I was a child, and the 2 horses I was going to buy I named one Fledge, (a Palomino colt I named after the old Grey carthorse Strawberry) but even though we paid for Fledge and his half sister (Sprite) the breeder did the dirty on us and only handed over Sprite (big long horrible story) so, after not receiving the horse we'd paid for (in full) Fledgesflight it was (the one that got away so to speak((Fledge aka Strawberry got his wings))).

lipigirl Fri, 04/03/2009 - 05:23

I too loved the Narnia stories so we called our Leonberger boy Aslan kennel name - King of Narnia !

Sara Fri, 04/03/2009 - 12:00

Fledge, I've always loved your user name! I've read the Narnia series so many times I've lost count. I'm pretty sure I have a quotation from The Last Battle on my facebook.

rabbitsfizz Fri, 04/03/2009 - 14:30

I should really just drop back to Rabbit...I used the "Fizz" bit because it was the only name LB Forum would allow me to sue...Rabbit on it's own wasn't long enough or something....I could use Kiri, that's my other name and one I am known by in quite a few places, including LJ...I don't know, I've been Rabbit or RF for so long, I probably will just leave it!! ;)

lillith Wed, 04/08/2009 - 07:08

Lillith is just a nickname. I'm lilly in real life but i liked lillith for forums, it has biblical conotations. lol.

NZ Appaloosas Wed, 04/08/2009 - 18:58

"Lillith" makes me think of the tv show "Cheers"...but that's mostly because the bar on which the show was loosely based was my neighbourhood local for a while. :HB :toast

Right! Now that you mention it. Or "Frazier", for that matter. I do think 'our' Lillith has a warmer personality than the abovementioned character though.
