Re: UC Davis Color DNA results.. HELP..
This filly is a weanling. Where are you seeing the pics? Can I post using tinypics? I am new here and will see if I can get some shots loaded up.
I will attempt on this post to get some early shots of her. I have one that shows her eye real well. Mary walking.jpg
Re: UC Davis Color DNA results.. HELP..
E/e--heterozygous for black colour, can produce chestnut foal if breeding stock.
a/a--homozygous "negative" for bay, can not produce bay unless bred to horse carrying "A" agouti
N/Cr--has one copy of creme gene, will produce creme-carrying foal 50% of the time.
Translation--horse is a heterozygous smokey black. Can produce chestnut, black, palomino and smokey black if matched with similar horse. Cannot produce buckskin or bay without the use of a bay/buckskin or chestnut/palomino carrying the "A" version of agouti.
