Alright, I'll wrestle it to the ground and you be ready to yank a handful of hair.

I suppose since piebald is very rare in moose that it must be a recessive gene. I have seen all white moose, some people call them albino but as I am learning all white is different from albino (correct?).

I also suppose it isn't simple like the all white moose mates with a typical dark moose and voila a piebald.

Perhaps it is tho, if the white gene is recessive the dark moose would also have to have and then pass the recessive gene also.

moose genetics anyone?

Piebald is not synonymous with Tobiano, btw.
Piebald is black and white, any pattern. Tobiano is a specific pattern- or supposed to be, although I have seen very few, if any, Tobianos that have no other pattern.

I would almost like to say it's either a fence raised moose or had a date with a fence raised moose! I've seen that type of thing happen more often than you think (being a hunter myself) although it's usually in white-tailed deer that I see this. All I can say for sure is, that first moose looks MAD! :rofl The second one looks more natural to me, and glad she didn't pass that on to her little calves! Very cool pics, thank you for sharing!

He sort of looks more like donkey spots than tobi. I found a pic of a deer that has exactly the same markings as an english spot rabbit.
