Hey Everyone, I've been back n forth trying to determine if my filly is loaded. I'll appreciate your opinions. She was placed with a pinto stud about approx 7 months ago. About a day ago, her care taker said that she was releasing a white substance from her udders. could she be loaded? she came in heat about a month ago. however, she has been coming into season from a yearling.

She doesn't really look it to me however, maiden mares often don't show much. If your concerned I'd contact your vet. He can let you know for sure. The best anyone here can offer is a guess.

I had one mare that would "mimic" milk but was never bred and another that wouldn't develope a full bag until after delivery, so you can't go by that (and sometimes infection can cause "weeping" from teats). A vet check would be indicated whether she is expecting or not to determine what's going on with her...in the meantime...

If she was 7 months gone, even as a maiden, she should be showing more than the pix indicates...do you have a side pix that shows belly distention? Rear shots that show an sideways egg-shaped belly? :-?
