What I get out of it is that they found an enzyme that is very similar to tyrosinase, in fact can be activated to become tyrosinase. They have found out how to activate the enzyme and how it works so they may be able to activate or deactivare tyrosinases and cause or stop pigment production.

Hmm that's what I thought but I wasn't sure. Would that be like...reversing greying and stuff?

Actually, what I was thinking was that you'd be able to design your own white patterns. Too much white? Turn on pigment. Need that belly spot to get full papers? Stop pigment.
