Sabino or Splash?

So, my good friend and business partner was telling me more about her mothers arab filly tonight...they've had her for a while, but we were talking about how her training was going and such. For some reason I always think Xola is a bay..but she's not..she's a chestnut....so then I was like..."any white?" and here is the description I get of her. Medium Chestnut Flank roaning on both sides with some dime sized white spots in the roaning a palm sized white patch on her belly where the girth would be. a quarter sized spot just in front of her umbilicus both of those are almost exactly ventral(under midline) White hairs interspersed sporadically in her mane and tail blaze that starts with like a wide bulb at the top then it runs a bit wider than the bones on the top of her face to her nose it wides about a hands length from her nose then it goes straigh down over the lips, widens to take in the right nostril, but the left is still chestnuts she has several dark patches on her upper lip, though and the blaze runs down over her lower lip and onto her chin a bit the lower lip part is on the left side and is a small dribble that runs down onto her chin Most of her lower lip is dark except for the dribble the white on her chin goes back to where the chin chain would set now..the part that got me....no leg white at all...hooves are dark grey. unsure of dams registered name, my friend only knows her as Xena...she is american polish/some egyptian sire's name is *Ortel and he is an imported polish stallion the filly i'm talking about is registered as HA Xola my friend promised to get me some pictures of Xola, her white sections and pictures of both her sire and dam that show face and leg white and the roaning that *Ortel has in his flank area....however, it's going to be about a month due to some trips she has planned out of state and trips that the stallion/mare owner have planned. As for the filly Xola, she belongs to her mom and is currently at the trainers which is about an hour or so drive from my friends house...but she told me she'll have her mom take those and e mail them at some point to me I do have a few pictures of *Ortel that my friend sent me a year or so back, but they aren't the greatest. But they do show his markings somewhat. That sounds VERY much like splash. Her face sounds alot like my mare's. The lack of leg white is odd. If it were any other breed I would be suspicious of frame (which my mare is).

I was thinking splash too with her description...and then I asked Erin what her leg white looked like, assuming she had it...bad me!...and was told..not a white hair there..lol

Can't wait to see pics of Xola though...I seen a few of her as a baby/yearling/2 year old, but that was well over a year ago and didn't show her belly spots.

my friend said if anyone has access to Arab registry database or something like that, they can look up HA Xola and find out her dams reg. name from there.

Looks typical Sabino to me, no indication of Splash in the markings...BUT, it seems to me that in Arabs, as in Welsh, the two patterns seem to go hand in hand, so there is no reason why the Sabino cannot be hiding the Splash, as the foal appears to have a partial blue eye??

That foal does have a partial blue eye, yes. The falling off one side thing is mostly what screams splash for me.

they've got the pictures for me....they are putting them on a CD for me and mailing it to me, so hopefully soon :)
